The Glen of Imaal Terrier was first bred for hunting vermin and dog
fighting, but through selective breeding these dogs have lost a lot of
their tenacious spirit. They will however not back down from a fight if
provoked. Their gentle, loyal and affectionate nature makes them an
excellent companion.
